Statement:
I like to combine the traditional subjects with a new kind of approach. In combining the old and the new, I hope to transport the mind to different places through different portals. I want to create unexpected experiences and to allow the viewer to travel. In my work I love to explore the thin line between reality and fantasy, the mysterious and the obvious.
Vita / Lebenslauf:
Claire Mesnil is an international awardwinning representative for figurative painting. She grew up in Strasbourg/France and now lives and works in Cologne/Germany.
After attendant studies in History of Art, Philosophy and Classical Archeology (PhD) she received her MFA from ENSBA/Paris, France (École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux Arts).
Since then her work has been shown in numerous national and international exhibitions and is included in many private and public collections in many countries.
