I live in the Centre West of France.
I have experience in traditional and new media combinations for over thirty five years, so to me 'new', is always in parenthesis!
Non-figurative per se, series are largely intuitive studies working In 'new' media categories.
Motives evolve from motivation for producing series of work, and come from a developed instinct, combining with intrigue, producing an energy and inherent visual imagination from starting points, which are many and various, yet what often connects them is the desire to try and make sense of the diverse, often chaotic, parts that make up my own, and our experience of living; from triggers in the real world - literature, the built environment, nature, the sense of body, even from interactions in movement such as T'ai Chi. All seek to communicate with the viewers gaze, in an emotional, as well as just a visual, or cerebral way.
Most of the project series are constructed of layering; concealing and revealing by contrast, they explore the spatial relationships between organic or geometric forms often incorporating contrived symbols.
There exist a potential tendency towards collage, which I hope to exploit in the future to expand the Giclee print size, on the wall, and exploit juxtapositions of images engaged in a visual conversation.
The artworks differ in scale, yet express a desired default of large, to very large, and demonstrate a sensual feeling toward and within space, often inviting an imagined visual extension beyond the picture frame. They present a dynamic visual exploration that resides somewhere between the tangible and the intangible.
I endeavour not to follow historical meta-narratives. New narratives may appear of themselves, yet I do not pursue them myself. My production is happy with being here now!
