Rosário Rebello de Andrade's work tries to reflect the role of the artist nowadays amidst a diversity of new technologies. Looking back through history from Classicism to the Renaissance she is aware of how even now the artist is constantly repeating himself. de Andrade deals often with the question of authorship. One notices clearly the intention of formal differences from project to project. Although her studies primarily concentrated on painting, she works with different techcniques and installation, depending on the need and concept of each project. The quality/plasticity of the result should be clearly seen. Another aspect of her work deals with a philosophical concept of Landscape: they are interior landscapes rather than ones depicting nature. Since some years, literature and poetry is taking a very important role on her work. She is interested in language and how the relationship between image and language is given to the viewer.
