Vita / Lebenslauf:
1971 Adrian Alexandru Ilfoveanu was born in Pitesti, in a family of artists, 1984 begins painting lessons in his father's studio but he quickly embraces sculpture ;
1985 - 1989 attends sculpture classes of "Nicolae Tonitza" art high-school ;
1989 - 1995 graduates from Bucharest Art Academy majoring in the same specialization;
1993 wins a scholarship from the European study program Tempus at Aachen ;
1995 attends a residency program offered by Lions Group, during which he makes his first monument at Etlingen, called "Triumph Arch"
1995 - present lecturer within Bucharest Academy of Fine Arts on sculpture class
Aktivitäten / Ausstellungen:
1997 has two exhibitions abroad in Oslo, Norway and International Art Symposium from Sharjah, UAE; in the same year he receives a study scholarship from Italian Ministry of Culture ;
1998 his first personal exhibition together with painter Sorin Ilfoveanu at Bancorex Gallery;
1999 group exhibition together with his father and writer Stefan Agopian at the Romanian Literature Museum entitled "Maculate Conception"; in the same year he returns to Italy, to Rome, due to a residency program offered by the Italian Ministry of Culture
2000 another two exhibitions in northern Europe: in Germany, at Valbert and Denmark, at Copenhagen
2002 personal exhibition at Littman & White Gallery, Portland, USA; in the same year he receives Young Debut Artist of the Year Award, granted by Romanian Fine Art Association for his artistic activity; 2005 he presents at Brancovan Palaces a large synthesis of his works made in the last eight years in his studio at Radesti, Arges
2007 he designs “GOPO” trophy granted by the Romanian Film Industry; Helsinki, French Cultural Institute, exhibition called ‘Arhietipuri’ organized by the Romanian Museum of Contemporary Art, Romanian Peasant Museum , exhibition “Eve lived in Plescoi” dedicated to the preservation of the Romanian traditions.
