Vita / Lebenslauf:
I was born in Zug, Switzerland on November 11, 1953. Primary school was a Waldorf institution after that I moved to Genova Italy where I attended the classical gymnasium followed by the study of painting and sculpture at the “AccdemiaLigustica di belle Arti“ . A medical school in Switzerland was interrupted in order to follow a search of “ self-inquiry” and Art which turned out to be a lifelong quest. Career and the acquisition of provisions was always subordinated to the needs of a inner quest and the pursuit of art, which I did regard as a tool for the “ individuation process “ and not as a trade.

I travelled extensively, getting to know the major spiritual traditions and met many remarkable man. My main teacher was P.H. Bidler in Pensilvania . I stayed at” Northeon forest” for a year 1980/81.In Thailand the LoangpoKamKien from WatPaaSukatoo had a major influence in my life . Sources of influence were alsoRamana, G.I. Gurdjieff, and many people within the Gureff movement. Meeting Islam and Sufism was important and controversial. I had the chance to meet several Tarikas and and followed the teachings of important sheikhs. Currently I am not associated to any Sangha and follow a daily routine and spiritual practiceof” my own making” as best as I can. No more schools, no more teachers! Qui Gung is part of my life .I got to know this “lifesaving” practice in the 80`s studying with J.Zöler and Prof JaoGury. Finally I found “My” exercise with the Gennan Qui Gung which I practice and sometimes teach since 1992.

I worked as a professional artist mainly during the 80’ I made a few exhibitions and managed to survive selling sculptures to private collectors and public institutions in Europe and the USA. The apex of my professional career was a grand exhibition at the UNESCOheadquarters in Paris 1990To sustain myself and my family, my ex-wife Karin and our two excellent Children Enea and Leila, I worked in various Jobs. I was a tour guide in Italy leading cultural trips in the region of Napoli and Sicily. ( ForBaumeler ). This gave me the opportunity to acquire a deep insight into Greco –Roman culture and history, all of this in the spectacular scenery of the “ costieraAmalfitana “.In the 70’s and early 80` I worked as a curator for the “ museodellacivilta Contadina “ in Stabbio Switzerland. I learned a lot especially the appreciation of small, apparently insignificant things of daily use in a rural society of southern Switzerland. Many side jobs helped to sustain me and gave me insight into different domains. Cleaning Pizza pans and cutting wood in Pennsylvania contrasted with my writing documentary movies for the swiss TV ( ulmaad`America ) or the collaboration withDr. A. Fazeli , one of the largest carpet dealers from Iran, which led to a carpet trade . As soon as I earned enough money I cancelled the business and went travelling; to the great disappointment of Dr. Fazeli.Note worthy is my apricot import business. It went on for about 3 Years. I bought the best dried apricots in Baltistan, a desert region in the disputed area of the Karakoram region. ( Jamu and Kashmir Pakistan ) The business was started as a Philanthropic attempt to bring some income to the peoples of Baltistan. The former and only ex Sufi state ( Nurbachi`s , Silzilla e zahab ) lies aloof surrounded by the greatest concentration of High peaks on our planet. Nangaparbat , the K`s MashabrumDeosai Plane ! Meeting the head of the local Sufi community, Fakir Ibrahim ,was an important experience. The young colonell of the Pakistani army Just emanated light out of his body! I worked and gathered some experience as a therapist for heroin addicts being responsible for western addicts in the Thai monastery of Wat tam Krabok. ( Prabuthabaat, SaraburriThailand)
1995 I met the woman sculptor Regine Heim ( RifkaFreudenreich ).An intense friendship and working relation developed which lasted till her death 2004. I was engaged in Zurich as a sculptor assistant to the artist. The Job came in handy because I was struggling there without any money facing divorce from my wife. ( no fun ! ).At my question , “ what am I supposed to do Madame ? “ Régineanswered : “ vive la liberte “ So our cooperation started out on this base and so it remained. I considered it my task to find a proper setting for Régines Work and developed a concept for a “ living Museum “ a long and often painful process started out. We finally managed to set up the Regina Heim cultural centre , “ la foundation Heim “ in PregnyChambésy Geneva , Switzerland. I learned a lot during this process and my time as Curator and vice president of the Heim Foundation.I am particularly proud of many cultural events, concerts , socratic dinners, exhibitions, performances which filled the grand villa Mc Gregor, the former family mansion of the owners of Caterpillar. Just to name a few, we were honoured to host Alain Kremsky, Charles Ketchaham, Prof.Emoto, Irene Alfageme, Adelina von Fürstenberg, Jean- Pierre Huser, Karen Tze, Miss Schwab, prof Alexander Schieffer, and last bat not last D.K. Mathai. Most interesting were spontaneous, intimate concerts and exchanges, sharing a simple dinner. 2011 I resigned from all my functions at the Heim Foundation. Some frictions with local politicians and newly elected board members, the usual human stuff, had to be sorted out legally. Anger and resentment was washed out from my system during a prolonged stay in “My” jungle cutti at the mountain monastery of WatMahawan, the “great sweetness” Since 2013 I live permanently in Thailand where I shift between Bangkok and Pai. With my companion Ae I am experiencing one of the happiest times of my life. Engaging in painting and design projects. The Universal art studio has just been completed, thanks to the generous help of my sister Claudia. I aim to incorporate the most of my experiences and create a platform for exchange and creativity.
