LA MIRADA DE JALAR

Existe un universo JALARIANO del que, como un iceberg, es probable que muchos apenas hayan contemplado o sentido y admirado aquella parte visible resaltada sobre la misma superficie donde se desarrolla el acontecer de las cosas “normales” –el pan nuestro de cada día, las elementales urgencias cotidianas…– y las acciones de hombres y mujeres que dejan sus huellas en la arena, en la piel y en el alma y, con ellas, todo cuanto podría oscilar en medio de la antinomia bondad-maldad y que, en últimas, dan cuenta de la condición humana.

La mirada de Jesús Alberto Arbeláez Arce, Jalar, está ahí, en la superficie de su propio mundo y en la de un observador desprevenido, pero en realidad está precedida y seguida por otra mirada e intención que van más allá de la textura formal o de los acostumbrados estereotipos que tienen como fin dejar constancia de algo, atendiendo sólo a un criterio objetivo –de resultado y de apariencia– y sin ningún otro miramiento aunque alguna ignorada mente perspicaz lo vislumbre.

En la obra artística de Jalar existen dos conjugaciones que le imprimen su vocación universal: la profunda sensibilidad del creador, con su insondable mirada interior y la ‘carga’ imprevisible de sus subjetividades, y su mirada de ser humano que no puede soslayar la realidad cotidiana con sus componentes culturales y el pandemónium mediático en que se ha convertido esta aldea global con sus desgarramientos incesantes, sus valores perdidos o trastocados y el dolor y la injusticia campeando por doquier. Y, tras aquellas, el fondo y la forma se compenetran para mostrar, ya no sólo la punta del iceberg, sino también el bloque gigantesco que subyace, con sus elementos tangibles e intangibles, subliminales si se quiere, permeando o hiriendo los sentidos con la “sugerencia” no tan sutil o la expresión enérgica, inequívoca y sin concesiones que traduce un clamor y un anhelo universales.

En los retablos, representación atávica de una antigua tradición pictórica, Jesús Alberto Arbeláez Arce, Jalar, imprime con un sentido moderno su recursividad plástica, rindiendo homenaje –más que interviniendo– a la madera, en otra mágica e irrepetible fusión del hombre ‘hacedor’ y de la naturaleza propendiendo, ¡desde siempre!, hacia la eternidad. Y, en ellos, formando una serie que trasciende el icono religioso, Cristo, con su corporeidad humana y su aureola divina, recordándonos su Sacrificio y su Amor que compendian todos los valores y virtudes en los que se cifran la esperanza y la única y genuina posibilidad de un nuevo amanecer para la humanidad.

Resplandores, como en esta oportunidad se llama su exposición, a más de un regalo para los sentidos, es también una invitación a la reflexión, a través del juego cromático de Pitonisa, la explosión absoluta del color con su conjugación de formas poéticamente distribuidas, como en Simón, la búsqueda de libertad y trascendencia en Universo, y el dolor, la soledad y el abandono de Desarraigo en luna llena o en María de los gatos.

Bio / Resumee / Statement:
Nace en Medellín (Colombia) el 9 de Junio de 1960.
*1971-1978 Estudia con los maestros Jorge Cárdenas y Marco Tulio Castaño.
*1980-1983 Instituto de Bellas Artes. Pereira.
*1984-1986 Taller del desnudo. Museo de Antioquia.
* Ha participado en innumerables Salones de Arte y exposiciones colectivas y ha realizado 16 exposiciones individuales.
*Su obra con marcada tendencia surrealista se encuentra en: Museo Casa de la Convención, Rionegro. Administración Municipal de Rionegro. Concejo Municipal de Marinilla. Fundación Infancia para la Paz,INFAPAZ. Fundación Néstor Sanín Arbeláez. Asamblea Departamental de Antioquia…Además en diferentes colecciones privadas.
