Lydia Oerlemans - creator of all these works of art mainly in etching / and combined with mixed techniques - was devoted to realizing and capturing impressions with such detail in shape and color that prints were repeated and repeated and reconfigured until finally close to satisfactory.
She left behind great library of works, almost an autobiography telling the story of her step by step developments and changes in her work and the themes she preferred at the time.
It was her wish that her works were to be sold.
There is also an illustrated book on her life ans work ( in Dutch, which can also be ordered)
Bio :
Lydia Oerlemans - van der Poel 1944-2005, studied art at the Academy of the Arts in Breda and Rotterdam.
She specialized in graphic techniques. She also was a teacher until the end of 2005 at the Vrije Academie in Rotterdam. The major part of her work was done in her workshop in Rhoon but she produced a lot in Southern France as well.
