I work in the style of Abstract Expressionism, in the landscape genre, on paper, in mixed media. Without preliminary sketches and sketches, at a time, while the paint dries, it is always impromptu. I never correct or alter my work, and only some of which I save. "The best is random .."

PERSONAL EXHIBITION OF YURI SAMSONOV - THE ARTIST DRAWING WITH MOOD
ST. PETERSBURG. On June 3, in the trapezium hall of the Exhibition Center of the Union of Artists, a personal exhibition of Yuri Samsonov began work. The exposition of the exhibition consists of the artist's graphic works, executed in the style of abstract expressionism. For landscapes painted by Yuri Samsonov on paper, mixed media is used, thanks to which the artist's works look stylish and modern. Yuri Samsonov received the basics of professional art education in his hometown of Leningrad, who was born there in 1961. His place of study was the restoration school, and the artist began his creative activity in the late eighties. In 1977, Yuri Samsonov became a member of the Union of Artists. The artist says that each of his works is impromptu, he never removes or tweaks them. He writes a lot, but on average, out of 5-7 works, only one is presented to the public. On one picture, painted by Samsonov, he spends about as much time as is necessary for the paint to dry. This is the creative principle of an artist working in the style of abstract expressionism. The author of this term was E. von Süden, an art critic from Germany, back in the 1920s. The main thing in this technique of painting and drawing was work that was extremely spontaneous, performed exclusively under the influence of a momentary mood, an emotional state that had arisen. The main rule of the artist's work when using this style is the absence of any rules applied in classical painting. The presence of this technique is evident in the early works of Kandinsky.
