Statement:
Art can immortalizes a moment, create an icon, or share a connection with the Divine through images. Human beings have found it necessary to create art from the beginning of time to communicate the sacred and the profane. Through art, human beings tell their stories-historical, personal, or transcendent. These sculpted images are stories I have immortaziled-be they iconic figures, moments in real time, or visions of beings and deities from mystical realms that exist as archetypes within the world of my imagination.

Vita / Lebenslauf:
Cindy Sibilsky has been sculpting from the age of 4 and selling her work since 12. Upon moving to NYC, with limited space in a small apartment, Cindy developed a new style of wall-hang able sculpture. She calls these creations, PULPT (paint/sculpt). The subject matter is diverse: from ancient to modern day Icons and Deities, to the sensual, the spiritual, musical inspiration, and mirrors to society. It's "Tantric Pop" Art.
Cindy has perfected her craft at the Art Student's League and The New York Studio School. She experiments with new styles and mediums to evolve and add dimension to her work. She is currently studying Tibetan painting under master painter, Pema Rinzin.
She has had several group shows in NYC and has thrice participated in the Estrogenius Festival, a celebration of women in the Arts. Through www.barebrush.com, her artwork has been chosen by guest curators as a winner of the monthly contests 13 times and counting. In September 2008, her art won First Place as chosen by Bob Hogge of Monkdogz art gallery in Chelsea. She also won First Place in the BLICK "End of the Year" Art Awards. Her artwork was featured in the 6th Annual NOHO ArtWalk and was displayed at the Village Voice.
In the summer of 2009, she single-handedly created, produced, and promoted two Solo Art "Happenings" in the East and West Villages of NYC, complete with live music and performances. The art will be on view throughout 2009 at “The Bean” (West side-10th Street and 6th Ave/East side-3rd Street and 1st Ave).
Cindy is a Guide/Docent at the Rubin Museum of Art (dedicated to art of the Himalayas, where she has created a tour called "Dancing Through Divinity: Movement and Mudras" and for which she has been interviewed in the Village Voice.
She is an artist (sculpture) for "THE SIX BETWEENS", where creative visionaries from various mediums (music, dance, art, poetry, etc) recreate the 6 states of "between" (Bardos) according to Tibetan Buddhism, www.thesixbetweens.net.
