Statement:
I have special passion for experimental art. The style I have obtained in my collection "Making Conscious the Unconscious" is the result of more than 5 years of experiment different ways of abstract expressionism.
Each painting of this collection contains figurative and abstract compositions. It has taken long hours of using colors and deciphering abstract forms that my brain painted using my hand in disinhibition.
I want that my paintings bring the brain of the spectator to an unlimited imaginary activity. Any image can be real or unreal, conscious and unconscious, it does not matter because it is just a part of our brain activity and then it can be enjoyed and why not: Thought after.
Vita / Lebenslauf:
Daniel Martinez was born in Bucaramanga, Colombia in 1961 and he is currently residing in Boca Raton, South Florida.
He become a Professional Civil Engineer in Colombia and Postgraduate Studies at the London School of Economics.
Daniel has been conscious that to create pure Experimental Art means infinite sense of decorum and self effacement.
For Daniel art exists “as is”, it is individual and is merely product of a brain activity. The brain makes people choices including what mediums to use and what imaginary patron of colors to apply. The brain is the boss who commands the movements of the hands. For Daniel, the importance of an artwork is proportional to its individuality and authenticity. Daniel Martinez only signs his paintings after he deeply feel that it includes histories produced by conscious and unconscious decisions of his brain.
His paintings have obtained honorable mention and recognition from Art Interview Magazine and have been exhibited and auctioned in the USA. His paintings are also part of private collections in Europe and Latino America.
