PAUL GEORGE MABRIER
In Wien geboren.Maturierte in Wien. Besuchte anschließend die Universität und studierte drei Semester Psychologie.
Autodidakt.
Der Künstler hat schon seit seiner Kindheit Interesse am Zeichnen und Malen. Er beginnt sein Weltbild, seine Träume und Ängste in seinen Bildern zu verarbeiten. Er stößt dabei in Räume vor, die sich unserer banalen Realität entziehen und in den tiefen surrealen Schichten des Unterbewusstseins verborgen sind. Immer taucht das Thema von mehreren ineinander greifenden Dimensionen auf. Türen werden aufgestoßen, die den Blick in diese Tiefen unseres Unterbewusstseins freigeben. Stark beeinflusst werden seine Werke auch von den Höhlenmalereien unserer Urahnen, von den Malereien der Naturvölker (den Aborigines, den afrikanischen Naturvölkern, den süd-und nordamerikanischen Indianern). Eine magische Welt der Schamanen, eines animistischen Weltbildes tut sich auf. Eine animierte dämonisierte Natur, die von Elementarwesen, Geistern und Dämonen besiedelt ist; spürbar die seelische und spirituelle Harmonie und Einheit unserer Vorfahren als ein Teil der Schöpfung. Es ist die Rückführung zu den Ursprüngen der Malerei, eine symbolisch-magische Darstellung dieser beseelten Welt.
Seine Stilrichtung ist der abstrakte Expressionismus, Surrealismus und der Symbolismus.
