1980-84 Awwarded Bachelors Degree in English Literature at Beijing Second Foreign Language Institute
1985-88 Studied piano and music composition at China Conservatory of Music
1986-90 Studied traditional Chinese ink painting - bamboo and orchid - from Huan Jun, professor of the Central Academy of Fine Arts
1990-91Studied sketching and oil painting at the Beijing Red-flag Fine Arts Institute
1990-92 Privately tutored by close friend Qiu Jun, who graduated from the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts, studying sketching.
1994-now freelance artist
