Statement:
Licht ist wunderschön...
Und alles in meinen Bildern ist im Licht.
Seit 1993 habe ich eine eigene Art der Lichtmalerei entwickelt: Ich betone besonders das Licht in meinen gegenständlichen Gemälden und zerlege es in Spektralfarben, um seine Bedeutung sichtbar zu machen: Das Licht läßt die Dinge als Körper und Raum erscheinen und erzeugt alle Farben und deren Schönheit. Auch möchte ich mit meiner besonderen Technik (z.B. Lasurmalerei: Transparente Farbschichten werden übereinander gelegt) und meiner Art und Weise der Gestaltung mit den Spektralfarben die Schönheit der Farbe steigern.
Entsprechend der Farbkombination, wie sie in den Kanten eines Glasprismas beobachtet werden kann, male ich wellen- bzw. strahlenförmige Strukturen aus Flecken in den Spektralfarben in meine gegenständlichen Motive.
Zahlreiche Gemälde wirken wie von strahlendem Sonnenlicht durchflutet, in anderen entstehen beinahe dreidimensionale Raumwirkungen. Seit ein paar Jahren male ich viele Bilder auf ihren Holzrahmen weiter, so dass der Rahmen wie die Leinwand Träger und Teil der Malerei wird; dies steigert gerade bei Landschaften die Raumwirkung.
Zwischen 1993 und 2003 habe ich die meisten Gemälde mit sich überlappenden Stoffbahnen überklebt, wodurch reliefplastische Wirkungen entstehen, die im Zusammenwirken mit der Malerei z.T. sehr reizvolle Effekte hervorrufen.

1956 geb. in Merzig/Saarland
1978 - 1984 künstlerisches Studium in Mainz mit den Schwerpunkten: Malerei, Plastik, Serigraphie, Glasmalerei
1984 - 2011 lebt und arbeitet in Berlin
1990 - 1992 Zusammenarbeit im Auftrag des Senators für Stadtentwicklung und Umweltschutz mit dem Berliner Umweltkünstler Ben Wargin
1991 malt auf Initiative Ben Wargins 4 große Wandbilder an die ehemalige Berliner Mauer gegenüber dem Reichstag im Spreebogen
1994 - 1996 malt im Auftrag privater Bauherrn Wandbilder für moderne Berliner Stadtvillen in Berlin-Frohnau und -Heiligensee
ab 2011 lebt und arbeitet in Braunlage/Harz
