Aktivitäten / Ausstellungen: The Gesto Gráfico Galeria de Arte is committed to the promotion of contemporary art from the State of Minas Gerais and Brazil. The gallery exhibits the works of important Brazilian artists in Belo Horizonte and helps promote contemporary art from Minas Gerais in the national circuit. The Gallery’s founder and director, Fatima Pinto Coelho, is graduated from Escola Guignard, and a licentiate in Fine Arts of Faculdade de Educação da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, having participated in the 1977 edition of the Bienal Internacional de São Paulo. Fatima enjoyed the support and incentive of her professor Amilcar de Castro to open the gallery, where Amilcar’s sculptures were first shown in Brazil in a one-person exhibition. The gallery works with 10 artists, besides those in its collection. It makes an average of 4 exhibitions a year, and takes part in national art fairs. A characteristic of the gallery are shows curated by the gallerist, who follows the graphic teachings of Amilcar both in the diagramming of the invitations and the exhibitions. Gesto Gráfico is engaged in the making of a more culturally dynamic Belo Horizonte, having worked consistently with contemporary art since its opening in 1980. ___________ A Gesto Gráfico Galeria de Arte compromete-se com a promoção da arte contemporânea mineira e brasileira. A Galeria expõe importantes artistas brasileiros em Belo Horizonte e promove a arte contemporânea de Minas Gerais no circuito nacional. A fundadora e diretora da Galeria, Fatima Pinto Coelho, é formada pela Escola Guignard, com licenciatura em artes plásticas pela Faculdade de Educação da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, tendo participado da Bienal Internacional de São Paulo em 1977. Fatima teve o apoio e incentivo de seu professor Amilcar de Castro para abrir o Gesto Gráfico, onde foi feita a primeira exposição individual de esculturas do artista no Brasil. A Galeria trabalha com 10 artistas, tendo ainda obras em acervo. Realiza em torno de 4 exposições anuais e participa de feiras nacionais de arte. Uma caracterÃstica da Galeria são as mostras com curadoria da galerista, que tanto na diagramação de convites quanto na apresentação das exposições segue os ensinamentos gráficos do mestre Amilcar.
