Statement:
Das Leben führte mich mehrmals nach Asien (u.a. Japan, Singapur, Hongkong) und zurück nach Deutschland. Schon in jungen Jahren war ich fasziniert von der Geisha-Kultur, vom Zen-Buddhismus und von der Vielfalt an Stimmungen, die ein einziger Pinselstrich in schwarzer Tusche auf Reispapier zum Ausdruck bringen kann.

Erst Jahre später setzte ich mich mit der Vielfalt der Stilrichtungen in der "westlichen" Kunst auseinander und war bald fasziniert von den überwältigenden Farbmischungen der Fauve und der Expressionisten.

Mein halbes Leben verging, bevor sich die erste Gelegenheit für professionellen Kunstunterricht ergab.

Mildred Hsu Yee Wong (Painterland Studios in Hongkong) lehrte mich, die Einheit zwischen Geist, Körper, Tusche, Pinsel und Papier herzustellen und damit den Fluss der Tusche zu kontrollieren. Ihr verdanke ich auch ein tiefes Verständnis der chinesischen Kultur.

An der Kunstschule Lübeck lernte ich die Grundlagen der menschlichen Proportionen, der Farbenlehre, von Gestik und Mimik und ihren Darstellungsmöglichkeiten kennen, erlernte den Umgang mit Pinsel, Spachtel und Feder, mit Acryl, Pastell, Kohle und Bleistift.
