Über Jurek

Jurek wurde 1957 in Strzelin/Polen geboren und ist 1987 nach Deutschland ausgewandert.

Es fällt schwer, seine Bilder einem bestimmten Genre oder Stil zuzuordnen.
Die polnische Kunstkritikerin Iwona Rosiak sagte bei der Vernissage seiner letzten Ausstellung in Polen über die Entstehung seiner Bilder, dass er zunächst konsequent realistisch ans Werk gehe, bevor der Pinsel, vom Unbewusstem geleitet, seine eigenen Wege nehme.
Vielleicht wäre die Bezeichnung „Realistischer Impressionismus“ passend, auch wenn diese Bezeichnung scheinbar widersprüchlich zu sein scheint.

Was sein künstlerisches Schaffen angeht, so lässt sich dieses in zwei Phasen einteilen.
Die erste Phase erstreckt sich vom Ende der 70er bis zum Anfang der 80er Jahre, in der überwiegend Graphiken entstanden sind.

Die zweite Phase begann ca. 30 Jahre später. Dazwischen hat er der Malerei den Rücken gekehrt.
Durch die Begegnung mit dem Künstler Ralf Könnemann und seinen Einfluss kehrte er zur Malerei zurück.

Ein Leitsatz seines Lebens ist, auf der Lebensreise stets inne zu halten, um zu sehen, ob man in die richtige Richtung fahre.
