Bio / Resumee / Statement:
American, born in Rhode Island.
Studied, taught and exhibited primarily in New York State for more than 25 years before adding a second location for work, northwest coastal Florida. Resume upon request.
College studies included ceramics, drawing, painting, and printmaking. Focused on non-objective painting since 1980 and worked in acrylic, oils and water media.
Activities:
New direction in 2004: an in-depth exploration of a single subject, Water Works Series: Water Abstractions and Contemporary Sea Views. I paint plein air and studio paintings exploring the dynamic changes of movement, light and texture of water images and seascapes.
I want my paintings to express motion on the surface and below the surface; changes in light, color and texture throughout the day, and day-to-day. Most of all I like to paint small paintings that show the vast sea. This reminds me of looking at vast water through little windows.
Currently creating big works made up of sequences of small works. This shows the constant change of water and sky.
In 2008 began marketing fine art prints (giclées), using scanning and printing technologies to create large prints on demand of my original paintings.
