Lora Monz

1970 in Dnepropetrovsk, einer großen ukrainischen Stadt geboren, lebt Lora Monz nun seit acht Jahren in Deutschland. Hier verdient sie als Künstlerin mit dem Verkauf ihrer Bilder ihren Lebensunterhalt und verwirklicht so ihren Traum: Schon seit Kindertagen wollte ich Künstlerin werden, sagt die Malerin. Daher besuchte sie während ihrer Schulzeit neben der normalen auch eine Kunstschule und studierte anschließend dieses Fach an der Universität ihrer Heimatstadt.
Die Werke der Künstlerin sind sehr vielseitig. "Ich male ziemlich viel, praktisch alles, am liebsten aber Menschen." Menschen in alltäglichen Situationen: an Bahnhöfen, in der U-Bahn, beim Essen – schier überall. Außerdem sind die Motive ihrer Bilder geprägt von Eindrücken, die sie von Auslandsreisen mitgebracht hat: Ich liebe Reisen, besonders in den Süden Europas, nach Italien oder Spanien, in die Heimat von Francisco de Goya, der übrigens einer meiner Lieblingskünstler ist, erzählt Lora Monz.
Neben den Motiven sind auch die Techniken, die sich die Malerin zunutze macht, sehr facettenreich. So entsteht eine große Vielfalt ganz unterschiedlicher Bilder – einmal sehr farbkräftig und fröhlich, manchmal etwas schlichter und nachdenklich. Der Fantasie Lora Monz scheinen keine Grenzen gesetzt.
