Statement:
I look to interior and exterior systems, both in the natural and mechanical world, considering similarities and parallels between seemingly disparate structures. I then pull these forms apart, meld them together and tease them into an imaginary in-between, no longer defined by oppositions. Throughout this process, my aim is to suggest a space both newly discovered and open, readily completed by the experience of the viewer.
Vita / Lebenslauf:
Teresa Getty received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2004 and received her Master of Fine Arts from the University of Wisconsin – Madison in 2007. She now resides and continues to make her art in Fitchburg, Wisconsin, USA.
