Statement:
I paint landscapes many at night. I focus on the relationships between nature and modern human creation. I show what can be discovered and appreciated close at hand. I present my views to neighbors and the world validating our communities.

Artist Biography
Tom Keough
For the past seventeen years Tom Keough has painted in oil or worked in watercolor. Before that Keough worked for over a decade in black and white making pen drawings or linoleum prints. He started to paint in oils in response to the more immediate elements of the world close at hand especially the urban environment of our city and the beauty of the Catskills. His paintings have been shown in solo exhibitions, in the Gallery of the Brooklyn Center for the Urban Environment in Prospect Park, at the Gallery of the Interchurch Center- the headquarters of the National Council of Churches, and at the Theater for the New City, in Manhattan and St Peter's Church in the Citicorp building. Keough has exhibited work extensively in a wide variety of venues including facilities of the United Nations, the U.S. Capital Rotunda, in the U.S. Senate Subcommittee Chambers, the Society of Illustrators, the Storefront For Art and Architecture in New York, The Riverside Cathedral, and St Thomas Cathedral in Rockefeller Center, The Abyssinian Baptist Church in Harlem,the Moenchehaus Museum in Gussler, Germany and The Place/Kayenberg Design Studio in Hamburg. Keough’s work has appeared in many periodicals and several textbooks.

Night Paintings at the Hal Bromm Gallery April 22-July 31, 2009
Night Paintings by Tom Keough will be exhibited at the Hal Bromm Gallery. This Tribecca gallery is located at 90 West Broadway at Chambers Street, in Manhattan, two blocks west of City Hall.
Meet the artist July 8, 5:30-8pm. The artist will give a talk and slide show. Cocktails to follow.
