Statement:
The craving for creating art has always motivated me to seek inspiration in the natural beauty of the surrounding ocean and mountains. From shooting seascapes to chasing the fleeting reflection in the water and the ephemeral and mostly unseen beauty on the beach, photography helps me enrich my experiences.

The moment of dusk when the sky and the ocean start to merge into one and retreat from people’s daily life is the moment that I find to be fascinating and find myself feeling alive.

Residence: Lives in Seattle, USA.
Technique focus: Impressionist / Painterly Photography

What I do:
I paint my own vision of the world using light and my camera. In the past 10 years, photography has been the most important way for me to express my feelings. From early foundations in representational nature photography, to chasing abstract expression of water reflections, to impressionistic and painterly landscape, then the recent interpretations of abstract ocean scene at dusk, photography creates my visual journey. It is my fantasy. It fulfills my inner being.

How I create:
I respect the rules in photography. At the same time, I believe a rule is built to be broken. The creativity of art should not be limited by rules.
I emphasize creating the foundation of the image scene in the camera. I use shadow, shade, shape and color to convey the moods and emotions I experienced at the moment. By extracting and distilling the subtle shift through the magic of the light, I transform them into the surreal splendor and the moment of wonder of my own.
